supervises and coordinates the materials management activities related to planning, ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of a wide variety of supplies and/or equipment within a large operating department; participates in the development and revision of departmental policies and procedures; attends a variety of meetings and committees; maintains an integrated computerized inventory control system through subordinates by training and supervision; consults with departmental unit managers on the impact of materials management procedures; and performs related duties as required.
