The Opportunity: Work directly in the field at industrial and commercial customer sites performing testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of medium & high-voltage power systems apparatus. It will enable you to develop and utilize a broad skill set at an accelerated pace. If you want to wear jeans, drive a truck and work directly on the electrical equipment in operation rather than sitting in a cubicle calculating feeder sizes, writing reports, assembling components or modifying schematics, then this may be for you.

Paid Training Program: This program will bring in motivated people who are recently out of the military or recent graduates from a 2 year technical college or electrical engineering undergraduate programs who want to learn from the best experts in the electrical testing industry. You will spend four weeks (5 or 6 days/week) at our Corporate Headquarters in Dallas Texas at Shermco University learning from our technical instructors. You will receive a weekly stipend during the training program, lodging will be provided and initial airfare to/from Dallas will be covered.
Those that satisfactorily complete the training program will be made a full-time job offer to be based at one of our service centers in one of several locations. Competitive starting payrates and benefits.
Honorable military discharge in a related, electrical discipline; associates degree from a technical college with an emphasis in a related electrical discipline; or BSEE with a focus on Power Systems or similar (please provide a college transcript showing your GPA or a military DD-214).
Must have a strong mechanical aptitude, willingness to be hands on and work in the field at industrial and commercial sites 80% of the time.
Must be able to lift and move up to 75 lbs., use hands and fingers, have good vision, drive a pickup, squat, crawl, climb, walk and stand on feet for long periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be very smart and able to learn new skills quickly, have good judgment, be dependable, and strong computer skills.
Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and be comfortable and effective doing so directly to customers and co-workers.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or have current authorization to work at any employer in the U.S. (no sponsorships)
Must be Drug-Free, have a good criminal background check and a good driving record
