The Construction Inspector performs field inspection of construction work related to water, recycled water, and wastewater systems for compliance with approved plans, specifications, District rules and regulations.
Construction Inspector I: One (1) year of journey-level experience in inspection, preferably of infrastructures, or two (2) years of construction work experience, including interpreting construction plans and specifications of infrastructure/facilities, preferably of potable water, recycled water, or wastewater systems.
Construction Inspector II: Two (2) years of journey-level experience inspecting and documenting the construction of infrastructures/facilities preferably in the area of potable water, recycled water, and wastewater.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Both levels: A High School Diploma or G.E. D. required. An Associate’s Degree in a related field desirable. A valid California Class “C” Driver’s License and safe driving record required. A valid Cross Connection Control Specialist Certificate issued by the American Water Works Association or American Backflow Prevention Association, within two years of hire date.
Construction Inspector I: State of California Water Resources Control Board Water Distribution Operator Grade 1, within two years of hire date.
