Technica Corporation is hiring a Client Services Engineer; a System Administrator with a focus on Client Applications support. This position supports the Secretary of Defense and his team and works closely with the White House Communications staff. The Client Services Engineer provides end-to-end lifecycle management and operational support of current and future applications utilized within the Critical Infrastructure (CI) environment. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the Client Services Engineer to ensure that the users community needs are met and understood within SECDEF Critical Infrastructure environment and that all applications are secure, highly available, and operational. Ideal candidates have a strong working knowledge of DoD best practices, DoD Policy, System Security, DISA STIGS, Configuration Management, Microsoft SCCM, and Windows Operating Systems. The Client Services Engineer provides operational application support to local, airborne, and remote systems and must be a forward thinker with strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, with a passion for problem resolution.
This position will work with all the relevant systems applications to support, sustain, troubleshoot and improve the CI while providing the highest level of customer service and end user satisfaction to client and his support staff.NetOps and maintenance functions as indented below
Support the Critical Infrastructure through: daily system monitoring and verification of operational integrity and performance of organization’s core applications and processes; conducting daily security checks, monitoring and backup, archival operations; create, change, and delete user accounts as appropriate; providing Tier II/III support as needed; repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures; and coordinating and communicating with impacted users and leadership.
Perform Application maintenance including but not limited to applying OS patches and upgrades; upgrading administrative tools and utilities; configuring new/added services; upgrade and configure system software; document and maintain related policies and procedures; conduct performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization; configure CPU, memory and disk partitions; and conduct performance reporting to support capacity planning
Participating in Engineering Meeting, Configuration Review Boards, and support operational needs, including but not limited to installing new or rebuilding existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage; installing and configuring systems; and developing, maintaining and documenting installation and configuration procedures
Perform technical research in support of future Applications
Integrate new Applications into the Critical Infrastructure
Maintain a database of Applications used throughout the Critical Infrastructure Environment
Test DoD and OEM system upgrades and patches to ensure Application functionality and availability prior to enterprise deployment.
Establish a diverse test group of upgrade recipients (10%) prior to enterprise deployment
Resolve technical issues arising throughout the Application life-cycle
6+ years of relevant technical experience
Strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, with a passion for problem resolution
Comfortable in briefing and interacting with senior DoD military and senior civilian leaders
Microsoft Windows Administration in Classified Environments
