The Director, Production Services is the lead agent for all GPB production services. This individual will partner with internal and external stakeholders to determine the scope, timeline, and cost of approved production projects (television program, documentary, interstitial, or web based episode). The Director, Production Services will assign resources to projects, lead a team focused on delivering quality results in a timely manner and closely work with the Vice President of Production to provide oversight and direction to all GPB production services.
Interfaces with all departments as a liaison to determine what production services are needed and helps to identify available resources for approved projects.
Prepares budget templates and cost estimates for internal and external production projects and actively engages stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget..
Collaborates with Director of Studio Operations on crewing, equipment, studio and remote productions needs, special events, etc. and handles schedules and assignments.
Serves as the primary contact for original and third party broadcast master delivery.
Handles close captioning requirements for all broadcast and web deliverables.
Manages part-time staff, prepares annual reviews, approves times sheets and leave requests for direct reports, serves as the hiring manager for part time personnel, and oversees the productions internship program.
Liaise with outside staffing companies as required and negotiates rates with outside vendors.
Serves as Executive Producer, Production/Project Manager on specific studio and field productions (live and tape) as assigned.
Manages the readiness/availability of production services providing VP of Production with updates on short term and long term planning.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and a minimum of five years production management experience required.
Experience managing production budgets; high-level writing and producing experience required.
Proven record managing multiple projects simultaneously; strong project and time management skills, analytical, excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communications.
