Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is hiring a Line Producer to work on several television programs. We’re looking for someone who is creative and loves to write and produce live and taped studio and remote television programs. He/she will be responsible for editorial decision making; story and segment selection, and presentation. The right candidate should have a strong news judgment, combined with a desire to innovate and experiment with television programming. This person should have excellent time management skills and be an effective communicator who can work successfully in a team environment.
Serves as Line Producer of assigned television programs including Lawmakers, political debates, football coverage, special programming, etc.
Must be able to manage program rundowns, time shows, and write effective stories and teases.
Must be able to generate program ideas and program themes; assists with booking guests.
Exercises editorial control of all program scripts, and lead team in final critique of broadcast.
Incorporates social media into assigned programs to increase audience engagement.
Reviews and edits all material prepared by program hosts, reporters, and others for accuracy.
Prepares and maintains files, records, reports, and documents associated with assigned programs; helps to archive story and video elements.
Bachelor’s Degree in broadcasting, journalism or a related field, and at least five years of experience producing and writing for television.
Demonstrated ability to edit basic video elements utilizing software such as Adobe Premiere.
Experience utilizing newsroom content management systems; Dalet preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, juggle multiple tasks and multiple deadlines, and the ability to be nimble in a fast-growth, highly creative environment.
Must be able to work varying shifts to include weekends and holidays.
