Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is hiring a radio producer for our weekly arts interview radio talk show with a focus on the South. Two Way Street, hosted by Bill Nigut, is dedicated to longform conversations with guests who display creativity in their chosen fields and have strong stories to tell. Applicants should demonstrate deep knowledge of literature, music and theater. In addition, curiosity about a broad range of other areas is important. On Two Way Street, we often explore stories about public health, history, scientific discoveries, religion and visual arts. Atlanta is a dynamic place to live and work, and Georgia is rich with culture and important stories.
The radio talk show producer identifies potential guests for the host to interview, books interviews and prepares host scripts and background materials. Experience pitching, booking and producing ideas that go beyond the basic radio news spot is required. Applicants should also have experience with gathering high-quality audio in the field and the studio, multitrack editing and audio mixing. Experience with longform storytelling desired, as is experience working on live shows. The radio producer filling this position will also dedicate a portion of their time to creating digital content for Political Rewind, GPB’s live radio talk show on Georgia Politics. • Must be able to work varying shifts, to include seven days per week, weekends and holidays.
• Experience managing social media presence and creating multimedia web content desired.
• Experience with multitrack editing on Adobe Audition or similar software required.
